The Disguises of Shame

THE HIDDEN THINGS HOLDING YOU BACK

A Free 75-Minute Webinar with Dr. Jeffrey Rutstein

Have you ever wondered if you might be holding yourself back without fully understanding why?

Maybe you struggle to accept a compliment. You feel uncomfortable when the spotlight is on you. You work hard to get things just right—or no matter what you accomplish, some part of you still feels like you’re not enough.

Shame may be playing a role.

But shame rarely introduces itself as shame.

Instead, it can disguise itself as perfectionism, anxiety, anger, embarrassment, self-criticism, or even humility.

The good news is that these patterns can be understood, and when we begin to recognize them, we can start to loosen their grip.

Could Shame Be Hiding in Plain Sight?

Shame isn’t always an obvious feeling of being ashamed.

Sometimes it sounds more like:

“I should have done that better.”

“I don’t want people looking at me.”

“They’re just being nice.”

“I need to prove that I belong here.”

Or simply:

“I’m not enough.”

In this free webinar, we’ll explore some of the less obvious ways shame can shape how you see yourself, relate to others, and move through the world.

Together, We’ll Explore:

  • Why shame can be difficult to recognize

  • Some of the surprising disguises shame can take

  • How shame may affect confidence, visibility, and your sense of possibility

  • The role of the nervous system in these patterns

  • Ways to begin meeting these experiences with greater awareness and compassion

A Different Way of Understanding Shame

Shame does not have to define who you are.

When we begin to recognize the patterns beneath it—and understand what is happening in the body and nervous system—we can create space for something different.

This webinar is an invitation to explore the hidden ways shame may be holding you back and take a meaningful step toward greater freedom, confidence, and ease.
